Are you aged between 17-25, and looking for an adventure? We’d love you to join us for a year of growth, spiritual development, and pursuing Jesus as part of the Vineyard Discipleship Year at Catalyst Vineyard Church.
WHAT IS IT?
Designed specifically for 17-25 year-olds, the Discipleship Year offers the opportunity to deepen your understanding of faith, grow your relationship with God, and develop practical skills in a ministry area of your choice. Starting in Sept and ending in July, you’ll join us for two days each week.
You’ll receive practical teaching and theological training from some of the best practitioners and communicators within the Vineyard family, exploring a broad range of topics from sabbath to singleness, from prayer to pornography, which you will be taught alongside selected Vineyard Theological Training modules. This will largely take place in a group setting, so you can discuss and prayerfully process your learning together.
Alongside this, you will serve in a placement of your choice, exploring your passion and developing your gifting as you collaborate with experienced leaders. Whether you're passionate about social media and graphic design, capturing moments through the lens, developing our children’s ministry, investing in young people, or making things run smoothly behind the scenes with church admin - there's a place for you!
You’ll also be given a support mentor who can walk with you through the year, offering a listening ear and help you process your learning, and anything else that arises through the year. You will join the Catalyst Staff Team, attend weekly staff meetings, serve at any Vineyard Scotland events and conferences, with the opportunity to serve at Cause to Live For and DTI (optional). You will also attend 1 residential throughout the year, alongside other Vineyard Discipleship Year students from within the Vineyard movement.
What will my week look like?
Your week will be a combination of teaching and placement.
Teaching happens on Thursday mornings, where you’ll be based at our building in John Street, Aberdeen.
Your other day and a half will be determined by your chosen area of ministry, and will look different for each student - we’ll discuss it with you before we make a schedule.
