Missions

MISSION - LOCAL & GLOBAL

At Catalyst Vineyard Church we understand the importance of supporting our mission partners, people who are impacting lives all over the world.

While we always aim to create opportunities to serve and bless our local communities, we also want to give people the chance to visit and serve our global mission partners by going on an international mission trip. These trips provide us with the opportunity to experience first hand what God is doing in other countries, through the local churches and organisations we support.

Jesus gave us two commands relating to missions

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28

“you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  Acts 1

Jesus has commissioned his followers to be and speak good news to both the local and global community.

To be influencers in our immediate spheres and intent to reach the  “ends of the earth”, a global movement of God's love and power, demonstrated in normal people's lives.

So here at Catalyst Vineyard Aberdeen

We believe Missions is…

  • To proclaim and demonstrate the kingdom of God and the Good News of Jesus.

  • To reach, teach, baptise and nurture new believers through local church planting.

  • To respond to human needs especially -  the poor and vulnerable.

  • To seek to transform unjust structures and systems of society. ( Justice )

  • To strive to safeguard the integrity of life and creation.

As a Vineyard church, we are passionate about speaking and demonstrating the good news of Jesus by praying for the sick and the oppressed and compassionately helping those in need.

These values shape our mission partnerships.

  1. We partner with those actively seeking to plant churches and reach their communities and nations with the good news of Jesus.

  2. We partner with those who are creating safe places for the vulnerable, the poor and the marginalised, to hear and experience the love of Jesus, and be equipped to live a fulfilling life.

  3. We partner with the Global Vineyard Church family and build relationships that foster friendship, mutual learning and growth. With a focus on empowering and investing in future generations.

Quotes from those who have been on a trip.

“ Amazing time.. life-changing… my international trip played a seminal moment in my personal discipleship and what I wanted to give my life to.”

“As a team we cried, we laughed, and encouraged each other throughout the trip”

“ As a church planter now I often draw on all that I have learned on these trips, the times I stepped out to preach or lead or love, and the faith-filled and courageous leaders I have met on these journeys and ask “What would they do?” as I lead our church plant on mission here in Scotland.”

“I prayed for people on the trip and felt the Holy Spirit give me some prophetic words and encourage others which I hadn't done much of prior to going on Mission.”

Video of some people who have previously been on a trip

“Near the end of the trip, we put all the money we had leftover on the table, it turned out the exact amount that was needed for a more powerful motorbike to allow a pastor to reach outlying communities, really awesome to see God's provision in that.”
